Anna Best

Anna Best was commissioned with Ella Gibbs as part of ArtSway's World of Our Landscape project to produce a new work over the Millennium New Year in Sway. Anna and Ella produced 99/00 of which you can view the web archive here.

Anna Best has established a practice, which is hard to define. Each work may include a varierty of activities, methodologies and media, driven by Anna's interest in the local and in collaborative practice. Previous projects have included
'The Wedding Project' for Tate Modern (1998); 'Mecca', Camden Arts Centre (1999, www.eyes-down.com); 'The Festival of Lying' (with Karen Guthrie, Nina Pope, Simon Poultner, Grizedale, 2000);[a-n], a artist publication for the Artist Newsletter magazine (Artist information Company & Baltic Contemporary Art, 2000); Occasional Sights (The Photographers Gallery, 2003) and Free Lunch, (Arts Council England commission for Interrupt Symposia).

Anna Best's website provides an in depth survey of her unique practice. ArtSway supported the development of the web site through our Venice Biennale project
New Forest Pavilion.
