The work is intended to act sympathetically with the environment, highlighting notions of, for instance, the hidden and the ‘sublime’ while also formally considering the two spaces above and below the ground. The tunnel/channel will act as a womb or chamber both challenging and enhancing the audiences response to that which is normally unseen. The project is hosted by ArtSway and The Forestry Commission. Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva will be available both at the site and at ArtSway’s studio for consultation and discussion. ambush is a Year of the Artist project hosted by ArtSway and the Forestry Commission. Year of the Artist runs from June 2000 - May 2001 and is the largest and most ambitious arts project ever mounted in England. This project is one of 100 taking place across the region, co-ordinated by Southern Arts. ambush has been made possible by the support and assistance of the following organisations: T. J.
