ArtSway is pleased to announce this year's ArtSway Open Exhibition entitled commonground. Artists from around the UK are responding to the opportunity, submitting work for selection. The exhibition features the best of the submitted work (including painting, print, sculpture and new media) selected by Mark Segal, Director of ArtSway and other judges.
The theme of this year’s Open Exhibition at ArtSway is commonground. Artists have considered commonground as a concept offering the opportunity to submit work addressing a variety of ideas and concerns loosely based around the theme.
Artists were encouraged to respond to the theme in the style or medium that they feel most comfortable. Traditional responses to commonground, such as landscape, are welcomed as well as more contemporary or radical interpretations of the theme.

The Prize
Julia Polonski, It's Simplicity, July 2003
One artist will be selected by our panel of judges to show their work in an exhibition at ArtSway during the following year. Last year's winner, Julia Polonski, exhibited her work from 28 August - 1 October 2004 in an exhibition entitled body: a sense of place. Winning the ArtSway open is a great opportunity for exhibition in a professional environment and has given Polonski's career as a professional artist a significant boost.
