Nathaniel Mellors
The Time Surgeon
6 October - 25 November 2007 Reception for the artist: Saturday 6 October: 2pm - 5pm
ArtSway is delighted to announce The Time Surgeon, a new installation from Nathaniel Mellors. This new work was created while Nathaniel Mellors was artist in residence at ArtSway this year, in a partnership with the Arts Institute at Bournemouth. The Time Surgeon, which is a co-commission with Biennale d’Art Contemporain de Lyon, features a film-installation in which the central character, ‘The Time Surgeon’, inflicts physical torture upon a tape machine to induce time travel. Nathaniel Mellors is know for his ad-hoc sculpture, psychedelic theatre and absurdist, satirical films which target the question of who controls language
