Artists' Studios

ArtSway hosts a number of artists from a range of backgrounds, working in a variety of media, in dedicated studios on the gallery grounds.  These studio's are leased on annual licenses to the artists.  Availability of studio's are limited - when available the opportunity is advertised.  A waiting list is operated, please contact Melinda: melinda@artsway.org.uk for further details.

In addition, one studio is reserved for visiting artists who are undertaking an ArtSway Residency.

Studio One

This studio is used solely by artists who have been selected by ArtSway as part of the gallery's Artist in Residency Programme (please see Residency page on this website for more information).  Artists spend two months working in the studio and the local area, making new work for a following exhibition at ArtSway.  This scheme enables artists the opportunity to work on their own practice with the added addition of an exhibition at ArtSway after their two-month studio time is complete.  Each artist involved in this project is selected by ArtSway as an example, or reflection, of modern progressive art with much of the work in fitting with the rural environs of ArtSway.

The studio is available for short hire either side of the residencies.  Monthly rate £100, weekly rate £30, day rate £10. Please contact the gallery to check availability.

Studio Four

Adrian Hart

While spontaneity is a relatively rare phenomenon in our culture, there are individuals who are - or have been - spontaneous, whose thinking, feeling, and acting were the expression of their selves and not of an automaton. These individuals are mostly known as artists. As a matter of fact, the artist can be defined as an individual who can express himself spontaneously.”
