Context

ArtSway is the contemporary visual arts venue in the New Forest delivering a programme of high quality contemporary visual arts with professional development opportunities for artists and creative participation opportunities for audience. ArtSway is in a unique position as a contemporary visual arts venue in a rural environment which offers particular opportunities and challenges.

Volunteering

You can develop your skills by helping us in a voluntary capacity. Volunteers can assist in a number of ways including installation of exhibitions, marketing and front of house reception. Volunteers can gain important experience in gallery work which will help greatly in their career development, especially if you are interested in a career in the arts.

In addition ArtSway can host a number of Work Placements from schools, colleges and universities throughout the year. In the past these have varied from just a couple of days to six months. Students from local schools regularily undertake work placements and ArtSway has also hosted graduate students from the Leicester University Museums Studies MA as well as students from BA courses from around the country and abroad.

ArtSway Internship Programme 3 months - £1,500

October - December 2008

ArtSway's Intern programme offers recent and current graduates an opportunity to work at ArtSway for a period of time (3 months), learning about the work of an arts organisation and contributing to their development as an arts professional.
