| Volunteering You can develop your skills by helping us in a voluntary capacity. Volunteers can assist in a number of ways including installation of exhibitions, marketing and front of house reception. Volunteers can gain important experience in gallery work which will help greatly in their career development, especially if you are interested in a career in the arts. In addition, ArtSway can host a number of work placements from schools, colleges and universities throughout the year. In the past these have varied from just a couple of days to six months. Students from local schools regularily undertake work placements and ArtSway has also hosted graduate students from the Leicester University Museums Studies MA as well as students from BA courses from around the country and abroad. |

Internship Programme: October/November/December 2010 ArtSway is committed to supporting the development of innovative visual arts professionals and believes that an Intern programme is a highly effective and appropriate model to deliver this. The individual will benefit from working for an extended period with a professional, highly innovative contemporary visual art gallery delivering a range of very high quality exhibitions. The individual will gain understanding across all areas of gallery work, experiencing the priority of working with and supporting artists (curatorial and exhibition), while also assisting in increasing the engagement of audiences in the contemporary visual arts (Audience Development and marketing). The gallery will benefit from a sustained period of work from a highly motivated individual who will learn quickly and can contribute to the effective delivery of the gallery’s programme. In recognition of the costs incurred in living and working in the South East and to support those who would otherwise not be able to consider this opportunity for financial reasons we offer a £500 per month bursary. We will be advertising the above post from mid-August 2010. To receive an application pack in August please email melinda@artsway.org.uk stating your interest. For further information or any questions, please contact Melinda McCheyne on 01590 682260 (+11) or email: melinda@artsway.org.uk
