Wednesday 30 July, 10.30am – 3.30pmA fantastic chance to celebrate the summer and get messy with lolly sticks, glue and cardboard! Come and have fun making mini beach huts complete with their very own sandy beach! With Emily Stracey. Super-Size My Passport Wednesday 6 August, 10.30am – 3.30pm Super-Size My Passport is a very special workshop for children linked to the exhibition Just world order. Spend the day creating your very own fun and wacky giant passport using techniques such as painting, photography, printmaking and collage. With Joel Papps. Eco Beach Jewellery Wednesday 13 August, 10.30am – 3.30pm With the summer in full swing, this is a chance to make your own unique eco-friendly beach jewellery! Spend the day using vintage and recycled materials, with artist Rachel Larkins. Construct Your Own Olympic Stadium! Thursday 14 August, 10.30am – 3.30pm An amazing opportunity to celebrate the Beijing Olympics by recycling old shoe boxes into Olympic stadiums! Choose from a massive range of materials to design and construct your very own Olympic site! With Sara Slater. Olympics Competition Design your very own Olympic poster. Entrants must be 12 years or under. Poster must be A4 size made in 2D. Winning work will be displayed in Sway village. Criteria: The winner capture in portraiture a successful British Olympian and his/hers skills. Wednesday 20 August, 10.30am - 3.30pm A whole day full of fun drawing funny pictures to make your friends laugh! You don’t need to be an expert artist, just enjoy drawing funny pictures. Learn new skills that will make your simple cartoons come to life, making your very own characters laugh, frown and walk in funny ways! With Gillian Jeffery. Take Photos Without a Camera! Wednesday 27 August, 10.30am – 3.30pm Spend the day taking photos using methods that don’t use a camera - including beautiful blueprints and amazing pinhole camera photos! Come and have the chance to make drawings using the intriguing ‘camera obscura’, and at the end of the day you will have lots of images using a number of techniques dreamed up before the invention of the camera!
