Short courses for adults


|
Painting with Acrylics
An introduction to the basic techniques of acrylic painting. With New Milton-based painter Dave White. Course dates: Mondays 5, 12, 19 & 26 February 2007, 7pm – 9pm
Intermediate Watercolour
An opportunity to build upon existing skills, and to learn and develop new and exciting techniques. With artist Lisa Foey. Course dates: Mondays 5, 12, 19 & 26 March 2007, 7pm – 9pm
Introduction to Printmaking
An introductory course into basic printmaking without the need for a press, exploring the techniques of collage, monoprint, linocut and chine colle. With Southampton-based artist Laura Joy. Course dates: Tuesdays 3, 10, 17 & 24 April 2007, 7pm – 9pm

Art Activities for Children

Primary school age:
After School Art Clubs
4pm - 5:30pm
Fun, creativity and learning for kids of any ability with ArtSway Artists. Cost: £5 per session
Tuesdays: 5 - 7 year-olds (with Marcia Hull)
Wednesdays: 8 - 11 year-olds (with Laura Joy)
Thursdays: 5 - 7 year-olds (with Mia Khalaf)
Saturday Morning Art Club
10am – 12noon
Two hours of fun and creativity with artist Marcia Hull, for 6 – 11 year olds. Cost: £6 per child

Pre school:
Dinky Da Vincis (ages 1 - 3)
Tuesdays, 10am – 11am
Creative, arty and above all fun workshops for the little ones with their parents, grandparents or carers. Cost: £3 per child. Workshops take place every fortnight during school term-time.
Pre-school Picassos (ages 3 - 5)
Saturdays, 10.30am – 11.30am
Encounters with art for young children and their parents, grandparents or carers. Every fortnight, beginning 20 January 2007, led by artist Lesley Green. Cost: £4 per child. Workshops take place the first Saturday of each month.

Half term holiday workshop
Dollhouse of Delights!
Wednesday 21 February 2007, 10.30am – 3.30pm, £20
Using photos of your house and all kinds of collage material, come and create a 3D version of your own home! With Rachel Larkins.

ArtSway Open06

Winner Announcement and Gallery Talk:
Saturday 27th January 2007, 2pm, Free
Join ArtSway Director Mark Segal and Exhibitions & Education Officer Peter Bonnell for an informal tour of the exhibition. This year's winner, who will receive a solo exhibition at ArtSway later this year, will be announced on the day. Refreshments will be provided. Exciting and diverse artworks in a great variety of media, including painting, photography, film and video work, sculpture and installation, from emerging artists in the South of England and the rest of the Britain, as well as selected examples from Europe.

Next Exhibition
Beate Gütschow R/LS
24 February - 8 April 2007

The first British exhibition of work by Berlin-based photographer and video-artist, Beate Gütschow, known for her recreations of of traditional European landscape paintings of the 17th & 18th Centuries. using photomontage. Beate Gütschow will be presenting her new video works, R1 & R2, developed while in residency at ArtSway, alongside a selection of her existing landscapes.

Gallery Talk
Saturday 10th March 2007, 2pm
Dr Alex Vasudevan, University of Nottingham, will be discussing Beate Gütschow's work in relation to Geography, landscape and contemporary German Photography. Free
