Introducing ArtSway Associates

We are really pleased to announce that Leverhulme Trust are supported the ArtSway Associate Programme for the next three years. This means we will be working with ten artists to help their professional development and support their work. These artists are drawn from the residency programme and include: Charlie Murphy, Anne Hardy, Simon Fathfull and Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva. As well as working closely with these artists to develop their careers, we'll share information with you, providing regular updates on what the artists are up to and where you can see and engage with their work. Look out for special activities like coach trips to exhibitions in the South East, one of which can be seen below.

Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva

Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva is one of the artists involved in ArtSway's exciting, new Associate Programme.

Elpida has begun work on her Gloucester Cathedral Residency, and has been nominated for Sovereign European Art Prize.  She has also been chosen to develop a proposal for submission to the Macedonia Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2009. Closer to home, Elpida has an exhibition at Unit 2 Gallery in London Metropolitan University opening in October 2008. Busy times ahead for Elpida and all at ArtSway wish her well for future projects!

For more information on Elpida and her projects please see her website

Coach Trip

To coincide with Elpida's exhibition at Unit 2 in October, ArtSway are organising a coach trip to both the Unit 2 Gallery and The Whitechapel Gallery on Saturday 11 October 2008.

Involved in the day will be a talk by Elpida at her show, as well as a visit to The Whitechapel Gallery to see their projects, both on and off-site. More details to follow in the next newsletter.
