This newsletter is dedictated to our forthcoming Open07 event
Welcome to a special Open07 edition of ArtSway news, focusing on the exciting new exhibition opening at the gallery in December. Involved in this newsletter will be information about the Open, special events taking part in December and a unique opportunity for all our ArtSway Xtra Subscribers.
This year saw an unprecedented amount of work submitted to the Open, thanks to all who took the time to enter work. Over 500 pieces were received this year with only 30 selected for final inclusion - the overall standard of the work was incredibly high. Congratulations to all those who made the cut and commisserations to those who were sadly not accepted.
We greatly enjoyed looking at all the work and are anticipating a fabulous show this year!
Special Preview EveningFriday 7 December, 6pm - 7pm
On Friday 7th December, ArtSway Xtra Subsribers get the chance of a special preview of the Open07 exhibition. The evening offers the unique opportunity to chat with gallery staff about selected works and the theme of this year's event.
Reception for the Artists
Saturday 8 December, 2pm - 5pm
All are welcome to help celebrate the opening of the exhibition and meet some of the artists involved in the 2007 showcase. Free. All welcome.
Open Studios
Saturday 8 December, 12pm - 5pm
Come and visit ArtSway's studio artists, and talk to them about their work, or perhaps find a one of a kind gift for a loved-one. Free, All Welcome.
Portfolio Day
Friday 14 December, 10am - 4pm
Ten half-hour slots for artists from all backgrounds for critiques, portfolio reviewsand career advice with Director Mark Segal and Curator Peter Bonnell. Contact Melinda on 01590 682260 x 11 or email melinda@artsway.org.uk to book your slot.
Cost: £5 per person, booking essential.
Tax and Accountancy Surgery for Artists
Monday 17 December 2007, 10am - 5pm
A day of tax and accountancy surgeries for artists from Peter Lashmar, Lashmars Accountants of Lymington and sponsors of ArtSway Open07. Book now for half-hour advice sessions.
Gallery Talk and Winner Announcement
Saturday 26 January, 2pm
Join ArtSway Director Mark Segal and Curator Peter Bonnell for a tour of the exhibition and the all important winner announcement. Free, All Welcome.
